Membership Renewal
If you haven't done so already, renew your Membership now as you will not be able to attend speaker meetings or any interest groups unless you are a paid up member. For just £12.50 per year you can access all the Speaker meetings, participate in our visits and potentially join any of the expanding number of interest groups. 14 January – 2 p.m. 20 Years in Broadcasting and Media - How the media and its influence on the general public has changed over the past two decades, as seen by ex BBC reporter Kevin Bentley 11 February – Saxmundham2 p.m. The changing Flora of Suffolk - looking at the various habitats in the county, which species are declining or increasing and the factors that might bring about these changes. Each year the Royal Institution and the U3A team up to produce an afternoon of the best speakers from the RI's programme on a variety of subjects. The speakers for the 2010 meeting - to be held on Tuesday 30th March 2010 (1.30 for 2pm) include: Dr Lewis Dartnell, Astrobiologist (UCL Physics and Astronomy)will be speaking about Extra Terrestrial Life Professor Susan Jebb (Medical Research Council)will be speaking about the Obesity Time Bomb Places are limited and admission is by ticket only - £15 incl refreshments. U3A Jazz Appreciation Network Holiday - Rimini - 22 - 28 June 2010
